Jerry Uht Park All-Time Team

   

In conjunction with PNC Bank, the law firm of MacDonald Illig Jones & Britton, and Gohrs Printing Service, Erie SeaWolves fans have selected the "All-Time Team at Jerry Uht Park."

2004 marked the tenth season of baseball played at Jerry Uht Park, and to commemorate the anniversary, fans were given the opportunity to vote for the "All-time Team." Here is who you, the fans, selected:


Catchers

Mike Rivera

Mike Rivera

Rivera established the single season record in home runs by blasting 33 during 2001. He also holds the the best single season and career slugging percentage (.578). Mike’s RBI total in 2001 was the second best single season performance (Eric Munson-102). Rivera’s first major league experience occurred in 2001, going 4-for-12 in four games. Mike is currently in the White Sox system. view stats


Shawn Wooten

Shawn Wooten

Wooten left quite a mark while playing in Erie, establing franchise career records in hits (207), RBI (123), doubles (39), and total bases (336). Shawn was a teammate of former SeaWolves pitcher, Ramon Ortiz, during the Angels 2001 championship season. Wooten is entering his 12th season of professional basball, the last three will be spent with the Anahiem Angels. view stats

Eric Munson

Eric Munson

Munson is ranked in many offensive categories in franchise history. He holds the single season record for games played, runs scored, RBI, doubles, and total bases. The all-star first baseman led the Eastern League in walks, RBI and games played during 2001. Last season he established career highs in the majors with 19 home runs and 50 RBI. view stats


Second Base

Jhonny Perez

Jhonny Perez

Perez holds the best single season average in SeaWolves history, batting .306 in 2002. All-time he ranks 5th in games, 4th in at-bats, 2nd in hits, 5th in runs, 7th in RBI, 7th in doubles, and 7th in triples. He’s appeared in 104 games at Triple-A Toledo playing all infield positions. view stats


Third Base

Aramis Ramirez

Aramis Ramirez

Ramirez has established himself as one of the great former Erie SeaWolves. Following the 1996 season, Aramis was the 1997 Carolina League MVP. In 1999 he was named to the PCL Triple-A Baseball America All-star team. Ramirez played thirdbase for the 2003 Chicago Cubs, who won the National League Central Division title. view stats


Jack Hannahan

Jack Hannahan

Hannahan is beginning his second full season with the SeaWolves and his third overall. He currently ranks fourth in team history with 200 games played. His hit total (121) in 2003 was the 9th best in franchise history for a single season. Last season, Hannahan established career highs in games, at-bats, runs, hits, doubles, home runs and RBI. view stats


Shortstop

Omar Infante

Omar Infante

Infante has the second highest season average at .302. He also established single season best in at-bats and hits in 2001. After spending the first part of the 2002 season with Toledo, Infante made his major league debut on September 9 at Yankee Stadium, going 1- for-3 with an RBI. Omar and Carlos Guillen will cover ground at shortstop this season for Detroit. view stats


Outfield

Jose Guillen

Jose Guillen

Perhaps the biggest home run in franchise history was blasted by Jose Guillen. In the first ever game at Jerry Uht Park, Guillen homered to lead off the ninth inning giving the SeaWolves a 3-2 victory over Jamestown. Jose has become a quality major league outfielder, bombming 31 home runs last season with the A’s and Reds. This season you can see Jose starting in leftfield for the Anaheim Angels. view stats


Kurt Airoso

Kurt Airoso

Airoso has established many franchise career and single season records during his two-year stint in Erie. His .385 On-Base Percentage in 2002 is the best for a single season. He holds the career record in home runs (34), runs scored (121), and walks (89). This season will mark Airoso’s ninth in professional baseball and his eighth with the Tigers organization. view stats


Cody Ross

Cody Ross

Ross ranked second in RBI with the SeaWolves during the 2002 season. He was named the Eastern League’s Player of the Month for June and was the SeaWolves lone representative on the 2002 E.L. Post-season All-Star Team. Cody spent a majority of the 2003 season with Toledo, batting .287 in 124 games with the Mudhens. He blasted his first Major League home run on 9/2 vs. Cleveland. view stats


Pitchers

Ramon Ortiz

Ramon Ortiz

Ortiz was part of the Angels rotation during their championship run in 2002. Ramon was the winning pitcher in game three of the 2002 World Series, working five innings. He made his Major league debut in 1999, earning two wins in nine starts. During his stint in Erie, Ramon established a franchise record with two shutouts and his 86 strikeouts is the 9th best for a single season. view stats


Nate Cornejo

Nate Cornejo

Cornejo holds the SeaWolves franchise record for single season and career ERA (2.68). His ERA ranked fourth in the Eastern League during 1999. He made his major league debut on August 8th against the Texas Rangers. The righthander has spent the last three seasons in the Tigers’ rotation. His major league high for wins in a season came last season in Detroit with six victories. view stats


Brian Schmack

Brian Schmack

Schmack established the SeaWolves single season and career record for saves by recording 29 in 2003. Last season, Schmack was named to the Eastern League’s post season all-star team. In addition, Baseball America recognized Schmack as a Double-A all-star. Schmack was not drafted out of Northern Illinois and began his professional career in 1995 with Newark (Independent League). view stats


Manager

Kevin Bradshaw

Kevin Bradshaw

Bradshaw has the most wins as a manager in SeaWolves history. 2003 was his 10th season as a manager in the Tigers system and he was named the Dwight Lowry Award winner as the Tigers Player Development Man of the Year. Kevin has spent his entire baseball career with the Detroit organization, managing nine seasons, coaching for five seasons and playing four years as a Tigers farm-hand. view stats
