ANDREW MILLER SET TO JOIN ERIE

The Detroit Tigers announced late Tuesday that their 2006 first round draft pick, Andrew Miller, has been added to Erie’s roster and will make his first start on Sunday, May 13 in Akron.
Miller has made seven starts with the Class-A Lakeland Flying Tigers in 2007 compiling a record of 1-4 with a 3.48 ERA. His best outing of the season came on April 16 at Fort Myers when he tossed a complete game allowing one unearned run on three hits. In that game, Miller struck out six without issuing a walk.
Miller made his Major League debut on August 20, 2006 at Yankee Stadium. In that game, he worked one scoreless inning in relief. He appeared in eight games for Detroit last season going 0-1 with a 6.10 ERA. In 10.1 innings of work, Miller yielded nine runs (seven earned) on eight hits. He walked 10 and struck out six while holding opponents to a .205 batting average.
Miller is currently ranked the second-best prospect in the Tigers organization by Baseball America. Only Cameron Maybin is ranked higher.
