The Erie SeaWolves are pleased to announce their 2008 Promotional Schedule! This season features the 10-year anniversary of Double-A baseball at Jerry Uht Park. Here are some of the promotional highlights for 2008:
RETURN OF THE BOBBLES
The SeaWolves will give away two bobbleheads in 2008. The first comes on June 27 when the first 1,000 fans through the gates receive a bobblehead of SeaWolves manager Tom Brookens presented by the Erie General Electric Federal Credit Union. It’s also Mustache Night in celebration of the best…and the worst of mustaches at the ballpark. On July 25, it’s Jeff Larish bobblehead night for the first 1,000 fans presented by GetGo.
FIREWORKS FEVER
This season it’s double the fireworks shows on five SUPER SATURDAYS. Fireworks shows will follow the games on May 31, June 14, July 26, August 16 and August 30. There will also be an Independence Day fireworks show on July 3.
MVP CARD SERIES
As a part of THROWBACK THURSDAY’S, each Thursday features an oversized baseball card commemorating the team MVP from each of the 10 seasons of Double-A Baseball beginning on April 10 and concluding with the 2008 MVP on August 28. The ‘Wolves will also wear throwback uniforms from the 1999-2000 seasons each Thursday.
SEASON OF FIRSTS
2008 will feature several new promotions at Jerry Uht Park. August 2 is the first ever “TIGERMANIA” as the ‘Wolves celebrate their parent club, the Detroit Tigers. The first 500 fans that night will receive a Tigers giveaway item. July 24 is “SUPER SPASH DAY” where fans are encourage to wear swimsuits as we turn the stadium into a water park. May 7 is “Poncho Night” with the first 500 fans receiving a SeaWolves poncho on this oddball night dedicated to staying dry. July 27 is “Country Night” with a live petting zoo. May 28 is “Kids Opening Night” with a night dedicated to kids and the end of the school year.
SPECIAL NIGHTS
April 13 is National Grandparents Day and on this day, all grandparents eat for free. Fans can drive for show and putt for dough on May 20 for Golf Night with the first 2000 fans receiving SeaWolves golf tees. On April 26, we celebrate The Outback on Australia Day with the first 500 fans receiving a SeaWolves boomerang. UPMC Health Plan Paints the Park Pink on May 11 with the first 1,000 fans receiving a SeaWolves pink cap. The team will also wear pink jerseys in celebration of Mothers Day. The jerseys will be auctioned off during the game benefiting cancer research. Fans can break out the Hawaiian shirts on May 30 and July 25 for the popular Margaritaville Party Nights. On those night’s, the ‘Wolves will giveaway Hawaiian lei’s.
GIVEAWAYS
The 2008 season also features the best promotional item giveaway schedule in team history. The ‘Wolves will give away over 40 different items this season. In addition to the items mentioned above, the SeaWolves will give away Kevin-John Jobczynski lithographs, schedule magnets, schedule posters, C. Wolf soap dispensers, pennants, 12-month calendars, static cling stickers, schedule pens and more.
